A Brick-tastic Christmas tree alternative

I enjoy Christmas, but due to space issues I had to look for an alternative to a traditional Christmas tree.

Enter my love of Lego, Lego released a Christmas tree set (40338), but living with a cat and a dog, I needed a secure way to display it. I found a fantastic wood and glass lantern, which after building the tree, and working out some rough dimensions, I removed the glass panels and affixed a battery powered set of LED’s to the inside of the frame.

After that all that remained was to build up around it to fill in the space, using the Lego advent calendar my partner got me rounded out the creation perfectly.

Last year I themed the tree around the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s version of Asgard, complete with Thor, Loki, Lady Sif and the Warriors Three. This year who knows?
