LED wrapped Arc lamp.
Given the lack of light in the Apt, using summer to build some new lamps seemed like a good idea.
The wood for the arc lamp is a piece of driftwood found by the Saskatchewan River.

Now driftwood requires both drying and a serious once over to check for rot and soft wood areas, Exploration with some very fine drill bits was done.
As for integrating the leds, I mapped a spiral up the length of the branch which passed through various voids left by the natural rotting of the branches offshoots, this was done by first using a forstner bit to rough out a channel which was then carved out using various chisels.

Dealing with the LED’s diffusion was dealt with by using a shoji paper and bamboo, time consuming but the result is still vibrant with no glare.

A hemp wrapped cord and a LED edison bulb complete the build with plans afoot to incorporate a 3D printed lampshade.
And yes, the LED's pulse to music.
